play talk read

The Scottish Government Play Talk Read Campaign

play talk read is a campaign which encourages parents & carers to play, talk and read to their young children to help to give them the best possible start in life. It's for you as a parent, carer or grandparent.

playtalkread website
There's lots of fab and free resources to support you to play, talk and read with your child, aswell as an on-line community where you can register (receive a free play cube) to chat with other parents, share tips, advice, photos and much, much more

We think the play talk read website is a great resource which you can tap into at anytime - not just for great ideas to help you play talk and read with your child - but as support for parents new and old - whether it's finding time to play with your child as a single mum or a weekend parent - go on, make play part of your day !

Nursery grandparent Marion Morris talks about her experience of play and interaction with her grandchild in this Daily Record news article.

At the Jeely Piece Club we've long recognised the value of early interaction and we place great emphasis on adopting a holistic approach to child development within our Nursery.  We focus on supporting the child and their parents/carers, rather than focusing solely on the child itself.  We're recognised far and wide for the really successful whole family approach which we adopt.
